Cristen Laird, DO, FACS
Dr. Cristen Laird grew up in Northern California, and was a dedicated precision ice skater from ages 4 to 20. She stayed close to home, and earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis. She briefly worked as a pharmacy technician, then continued her education at Touro University California in Vallejo. She completed a residency in General Surgery at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, where she met Dr. Raymond Laird. They married during their third year of residency. After residency, she stayed in the Downriver community and started her General Surgery practice in Trenton at Oakwood Southshore Medical Center (currently Corewell Health Trenton). Dr. Laird has continued her surgical education, and earned certification as a robotic surgeon using the daVinci Surgical System in June 2018. She previously cared for traumatically injured patients for several years at Trenton. In the spring of 2022 was elected as Chief of Surgery. When not working, she spends time with her daughters and enjoys gardening and crafts.
